BMW K1300S (2010-2011) Specs, Performance & Photos

The BMW K1300S was a sports motorcycle manufactured in 2009 as a replacement for the BMW K1200S, which has been in production since 2004. Compared to its predecessor, the 2009 machine came with a slightly larger engine that delivered more power, new fairings, and a new exhaust system.

In 2010, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW K1300S, a sports motorcycle in its second year of production that followed the same recipe as the previous model without any significant modifications.

Some bike features included an electronic immobilizer, a power socket, a storage compartment with a tool kit, adjustable handbrake and clutch levers, and a one-key system for the ignition, fuel filler cap, and dual seat locks.

In the aesthetic department, the bike packed a full fairing with a single headlight, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a single exhaust system with a muffler mounted on the right side, a single-sided swingarm, and Y-shaped 10-spoke cast-aluminum wheels.

Underneath its clothes, the 2010 BMW K1300S had installed a 1,293cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine managed by an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, delivering an output power of 175 hp at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.

All the power produced by the engine was handled by a six-speed manual transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch and a final shaft drive, pushing the motorcycle to 277 kph (172 mph).
