BMW K1300S (2009-2010) Specs, Performance & Photos

The BMW K1300S was a sports motorcycle introduced in October 2008 that replaced the K1200S, which was in production since 2004. Compared to its predecessor, the K1300S featured a slightly larger engine, more power, newly styled fairings, and a new exhaust system.

In the visual department, the bike was fitted with features such as a full fairing with a single headlight unit, a small windscreen for better protection, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a single exhaust system mounted on the right side, and Y-shaped 10-spoke lightweight wheels.

The bike's suspension system comprised a Duolever on the front and a Paralever on the rear, considerably increasing maneuverability and comfortability. It was also available with a second-generation Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) and an Anti-Spin Control system.

As for the braking power, the bike's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm floating discs and four-piston fixed calipers on the front. The rear wheel was fitted with a 265 mm disc and a dual-piston caliper, offering excellent stopping power.

Underneath its bodywork, the 2009 BMW K1300S packed a 1,293cc four-stroke liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine managed by an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, delivering an output power of 175 hp with maximum strength at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.

In 2023 (at the time of writing), the 2009 BMW K1300S was for sale with a price ranging between $5,500 and $9,000, depending on its condition.
