BMW K1300R (2013-2014) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2013, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW K1300R, a naked sports motorcycle that debuted in 2008 as a replacement for the BMW K1200R. The 2013 model was available with two new color schemes, Racing Red with Sapphire Black Metallic and Sapphire Black Metallic with Black Satin Gloss.

The BMW K1300R was considered a muscle due to its high power output and fast acceleration. In a "Bike Magazine" test in the UK, the BMW K1300R proved to be the fastest accelerating naked motorcycle, beating its closest competitor, Suzuki B-King, by one-tenth of a second.

Also, the BMW K1300R was never offered for sale in the United States market, although it was sold in the smaller Canadian market. In addition, a modified motorcycle version was spotted in the Bollywood film Dhoom 3, ridden by Aamir Khan.

The 2013 motorcycle was available with high-end technologies and electronics, such as sports wheels, an on-board computer, heated grips, LED indicators, Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA II), BMW Motorrad ABS, and a Gear Shift Assist system.

In the performance department, the 2013 BMW K1300R had installed underneath its fuel tank a 1,293cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine fed by an electronically-controlled fuel injection system, boasting 175 hp with a peak force at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.
