BMW K1300R (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

The BMW K1300R was a naked sports machine that debuted in 2009 as a replacement for the K1200R, BMW's flagship urban motorcycle, and continued its production until 2015. The bike's engine was slightly modified by the British company Ricardo plc.

The bike was considered a muscle bike due to its high power output and fast acceleration. In a test carried out by "Bike Magazine" in the UK, it beat the Suzuki B-King by one-tenth of a second, making it the fastest accelerating naked motorcycle.

In 2012, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW K1300R, a fast and agile motorcycle with a minimalist style made by the House of Munich, which was sure to fit the taste and needs of a wide variety of riders.

As for appearance, the 2012 K1300R was fitted with standard features, such as a single headlight unit, a one-piece dual seat with pillion grab handles, a single exhaust system mounted on the right side, a single-sided swingarm, a side stand, and 10-spoke lightweight wheels.

In the technical department, the bike was fitted with high-end electronics, such as a Duolever front and Paralever rear suspension system, an on-board computer, an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), sport wheels, heated grips, a gear shift assistant, and Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA II).

As for grunt, the 2012 BMW K1300R had installed in plain sight a 1,293cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine fed by a fuel injection system, boasting 175 hp at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.
