BMW G450X (2010-2011) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2010, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW G450X, a specifically designed motorcycle for enduro purposes. The bike was designed from the ground up only for enduro racing and was ready to tackle off-road courses from the factory.

It was an enduro motorcycle made by BMW between 2008 and 2011. It was one of the lightest motorcycles manufactured by the House of Munich, with a dry weight of only 111 kg (245 lbs).

The bike had a minimalist design, with a high-mounted front fender, a small headlight, a single seat, a single exhaust system with a muffler mounted high on the right side of the bike, a dual-sided swingarm, lightweight wire-spoke wheels, and off-road tires.

In the performance department, the 2010 BMW G450X had installed underneath its clothes a 449cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, delivering 41 hp with maximum strength at 7,000 rpm and 43 Nm (32 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

The power produced by the engine was handled by a five-speed manual transmission with a wet multi-disc clutch and a final O-ring chan drive.

The bike's suspension system comprised a 45 mm upside-down telescopic fork on the front and a direct-mounted Ohlins shock absorber on the rear, offering excellent suspension performance and superb handling capabilities.

The wheels were fitted with a 260 mm disc and a dual-piston caliper on the front and a 220 mm disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear wheel, providing optimum stopping power.
