BMW G450X (2009-2010) Specs, Performance & Photos

The BMW G450X was an enduro motorcycle made by BMW between 2008 and 2011. It was one of the lightest motorcycles manufactured by the House of Munich, with a dry weight of only 111 kg (245 lbs).

The bike was exclusively designed and developed for enduro purposes but also for the most demanding competitive races in the world and was ready to do so from the moment it got out through the factory gates.

The bike featured a minimalist design, with a high-mounted front fender, a small headlight, a single seat, a single exhaust system with a muffler mounted high on the right side of the bike, a dual-sided swingarm, lightweight wire-spoke wheels, and off-road tires.

The bike's suspension comprised a 45 mm upside-down telescopic fork on the front and a direct-mounted Ohlins shock absorber on the rear, linked together by a stainless steel frame, delivering excellent suspension performance and handling.

The braking performance was as important as the suspension, packing a 260 mm brake disc with a dual-piston caliper on the front wheel and a 220 mm brake disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear wheel.

In the performance department, the 2009 BMW G450X had installed underneath its clothes a 449cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a fuel injection system in charge, delivering 41 hp at 7,000 rpm and 43 Nm (32 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.
