BAJAJ PLATINA 100 (2014-Present) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Bajaj Platina was a 100cc commuter motorcycle launched by Bajaj in 2005 to replace the Bajaj CT 100 model. The bike continued production until the Present (2024). Eight months after its introduction, the maker registered over 500,000 units sold.

In addition, a year after the 100cc version was launched, the maker introduced a 125 DTS-Si model in 2007, which packed the same engine as the XCD model. The 125cc version registered more than 30,000 units sold per month.

In 2014, the Indian motorcycle maker released the Bajaj Platina 100, a small displacement commuter motorcycle in its ninth consecutive production year. The bike had a relaxed, upright seating position like other commuter motorcycles, offering a plush riding experience.

The bike’s aesthetic department was characterized by standard features, like a single headlight integrated into a small cowl, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with a pillion grab rail, a center stand, and five-spoke alloy wheels.

The bike was built around a single down tube steel frame with a hydraulic telescopic fork on the front and a Nitrox shock absorber on the rear, providing suspension. As for the stopping power, the bike’s wheels were fitted with both front and rear drum braking units.

As for power, the 2014 Bajaj Platina 100 had its heartbeat set by a 99cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine mounted at its core, boasting 8 hp at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm (6 lb-ft) torque at 4,500 rpm.
