BAJAJ CHETAK 150 (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2005, the Indian motorcycle manufacturer released the Bajaj Chetak 150, a scooter made for many years for the Indian market, being an important transportation device for millions of Indians.

The Bajaj Chetak was a scooter manufactured by Bajaj Auto in 1972. It continued production until 2006, and from 2020 until the present (2024), it was made in an electric version with a 4.2 kW BLDC motor.

The scooter was named after the legendary horse of the Great Indian Warrior Maharana Pratap, Chetak. The petrol version was based on the Italian scooter, Vespa Sprint, and was an affordable transportation machine for millions of Indians.

In October 2019, the Indian motorcycle maker introduced the new electric version of the Chetak scooter, with production starting in September 2019 at the Bajaj Auto plant. The scooter was launched in Pune and Bangalore in January 2020 and was sold through KTM dealerships.

The visual department was characterized by standard fittings, such as a round headlight integrated into the handlebar, a one-piece dual seat, a spare wheel mounted on the rear, a center stand, and 10-inch wheels.

In the performance department, the 2005 Bajaj Chetak 150 had installed a 145cc two-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine mounted in front of the rear wheel, delivering an output power of 7 hp at 5,500 rpm and 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) torque at 3,500 rpm.
