Less experienced riders could find themselves in a bit of trouble in case they are not acquainted with the manual gearboxes: the 2006 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 comes with a 5-speed one, and dual-range settings.
Even more, when riding on even, easy surfaces, you can use the 2WD, rear-axle transmission. When entering rough areas, a simple push of the lever engages the 4WD, for better grip. Helped by the generous ground clearance and independent double A-arm suspensions, the 2006 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 will tackle obstacles with ease.
