BMW Motorrad took the wraps off its latest flagship machine, the K 1600 GT/GTL at the EICMA show in Milan last November, setting a new standard in luxury touring motorcycles. One particular Ukrainian artist was so impressed by the model, that he decided to make a 1:12 wooden version of it, to sit along the handcrafted wooden models of Honda CBR 1000RR, Suzuki GSX-R600, and a classic chopper already included in his collection.

Thus, Vyacheslav Voronovich created this wooden model of the K1600GTL that you can see in the adjacent images.

The wooden replica has multiple adjustable parts, like the rear floorboards can be pushed back, the center and side stand move, the suspension actually works. Also, the wheels can roll, the handlebars can turn, and the windshield can be raised just like on a real motorcycle.

The artists brags with the completely functional front and rear shock absorbers that were made using the hot wood bending method – the same he used to make the six pieces of the exhaust pipe.

The majority of the components that form the bike were made from ash tree, while the dash and even the BMW logo was made out of mahogany. The suspension, frame windshield and the front light are made from beech tree.

With the new BMW Motorrad touring bikes, the first ever "Adaptive Headlight" option is also available in the motorcycle sector as an alternative to the standard xenon headlamp. However, as you might have figured out, the Ukrainian enthusiast couldn’t find a way to replicate it.

Compared with the GT variant, the K1600 GTL adds a lower single-section seat with revised footrests and handlebar placement, wider windshield, audio system with Blsuetooth, GPS and satellite radio, chrome features, matching frame and engine color and a top case.
