Perhaps you’ve heard about Colin Furze before. Maybe you know him thanks to his home-made Wolverine claws, or thanks to this guy’s obsession for world-stuff: world’s only jet-engined barbecue, world’s fastest mobility scooter, world’s fastest pram or others. Well, the Brit is far from becoming bored with building stuff, so he’s just come up with the world’s first bicycle with wheels made of ice.
Colin’s videos have become a bit more theatrical over the years, so they’re more entertaining to watch, Still, his DIY creatures have thankfully remained the center point and, as usual, this bike required a bit more work than just making some ice.

The man took a stunt bike (you know, the BMX type), widened the front and rear forks and corresponding axles, so that the wheels could fit. Colin’s bike consumes its wheels much faster than a drift car eats through its tires, so he needed wide rollers, which required this.

Speaking of drifting, this is an activity Colin’s bike is rather good for, so we guess this makes his contraption properly... cool. Oh and in case any of you is worried about the practicality, you should know Colin offers us some sort of a review here, riding the bike on all sorts of surfaces.

The ice-wheeled bike was built on a budget

As Colin explained in the past, when he first started building things, his budget was very tight. Even now that his finances have improved, the guy likes to build machines using basic tools and equipment.

The same common sense approach was used for acquiring some of the skills need to build the contraptions. As strange as it might sound, Colin learned most of the stuff he knows by watching Youtube videos. Heck, the online world even taught him aluminum welding. Let’s just hope no health & safety experts are watching this...
