Earlier rumors on the Toyota Camry Hybrid being launched around September in India seem very close to reality.
A local blog confirmed that Toyota India is indeed considering launching the Camry Hybrid this autumn and the pre-launch programs and events are due to begin this month. Toyota Kirloskar Motor also consider to locally assemble the vehicle as its a completely knocked down unit.
The Thai-spec Camry Hybrid will be powered by the same 2.5-liter gasoline engine found on the US-spec one that will be helped by an electric motor, producing a total of 200 horsepower. The setup gets completed by a Toyota e-CVT that powers the front wheels, just like the one found on the Toyota Prius.
