The “Honest” Harley Davidson Commercial

If you’ve got a passion for American motorcycles and you’re not born yesterday, then you should know about the Harley-Davidson / Buell history. While the purpose of this piece is not to pass judgement on who did what and who was right or wrong, we’d just add that there are a lot of Buell fans who have enjoyed the bikes Erik Buell engineered while the two companies were together and who also believe that the MoCo screwed the actual Erik Buell Racing, almost into oblivion.
Some of these chaps are quite vocal in expressing their disagreement with the way corporate affairs influenced the existence of their favorite bike brand, and they’re not shy to mix their resentment with a dash of spicy and stingy fun and… a dab of truth.

While I am no Harley fan but neither am I a Milwaukee basher, I have to agree that some of the things these fellows bring into discussion are true. And this has nothing to do with whether bar and shield fans agree or not. I have been doing a lot of write-ups on the bling culture, but refrained from saying bling was outright wrong or the only way to go for the true biker. I will forever stand my ground and say that at times, this whole so-called customization thing is slowly drifting towards ridicule.

Feel free to add the following link on your reading list for a pertinent view on the real custom bike culture. As for the video after the jump, it looks like it’s Buell fans out seeking revenge. I know it’s not new, but damn it’s so funny.
