Adding ‘Black Series’ to the end of any Mercedes AMG model’s name transforms it into a tire (not fire) breathing monster that spits out brimstone out of the exhaust and snarls like the devil’s hound that it is.
That’s what we’re supposed to think, but actually, it’s just motorsports engineering applied to a road car, and the next one in line for the ‘Black Series’ treatment is the SLS AMG, their bespoke front-mid engined supercar.
The SLS AMG Black Series will probably the most extreme car ever to sport the Mercedes badge.
Currently, the 6.3-liter V8 puts out 563 horsepower in the SLS, but this is expected to be boosted to about 600 in order to get that extra bit of performance.
At the same time, the body of the gullwing supercar will be festooned with go-fast parts like flared wheelarches and radical intakes.
