BMW took huge gambles when it launched the first X5 and later when they came out with the X6. Both were highly criticized in reviews and later proved to be huge success stories for the company.
From an innovator company, BMW has gone to being a stable one and much like Apple Inc. it stopped needing to take huge risks. It's a matter of steady as she goes and don't rock the boat!
After the F15 X5, BMW is working on a replacement for the X6, still sold as a facelift based on the E70 architecture.
We have the vey first spyshots of the new X6, likely to wear the F16 name. As you'd expect, the design is very similar to that of the new X5, with headlights connected to large grille elements and daytime running lights right underneath them.
The real difference is of course in the design of the greenhouse, more sloped both at the front and the back for that now typical X6 shape.
It's not difficult to imagine what the new X6 will look like, or what will power it. The F15 already has a wide range of engines on offer and has recently been presented even as a plug-in concept, the Concept5 eDrive.
