When SEAT released the current Ibiza model, the company put all its eggs in the “sport” basket, with the vehicle’s looks screaming “dynamics”.Now, the Spanish automotive producer is emphasizing this by releasing the Seat Ibiza SC Sport Edition.
The special edition of the Ibiza SC (Sport Coupe - SEAT’s way of saying “three door hatchback) comes dressed in a Lamborghini-inspired Orange paint, which contrasts with the car’s black-finished elements. These include the 17 inch light alloy rims, roof, as well as mirror casings.
The vehicle also comes with new sport body parts. At the front end, we can see a redesigned bumper, which brings new, generously-sized air intakes that use a fresh grille.
Moving to the rear of the Ibiza, we find a new roof spoiler and a redesigned bumper, which comes with black ornaments. The package is completed by a set of double trapezoidal exhaust pipes that are centrally-mounted.
The interior of the car has received orange trimmings, which are present on the door handles, air vents and gearshift knob. The sub-compact also offers aluminum pedals and a set of sport seats, that hug the front passengers, offering better lateral support for cornering.
Unfortunately, this is where the “sport” part ends, as the vehicle is powered by a 1.6 liter engine that develops 105 hp and 153 Nm of torque. Thus, the car needs 10 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and has a top speed of 189 km/h (117.4 mph).
The SEAT Ibiza SC Sport Edition is destined for the German market. The car will have a price of EUR 20,620, with only 300 units scheduled to be built.
What can we say... a 105 hp Sport Coupe Sport Edition car seems to be using too much marketing.
