Rossi's Win and Crutchlow's Podiums Increase Ticket Demands for British MotoGP Round
Even though the Hertz British Grand Prix round at Silverstone will take place on September the 1st, Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited told MotoGP.com about the ticket sales which "are going very well this year, which is down to a number of factors. It’s been a fantastic start to the season, with multiple winners, including Rossi back on a Yamaha, rookie sensation Marc Marquez becoming the youngest ever rider to win in MotoGP and Lorenzo and Pedrosa swapping places at the top of the championship. Cal has also had a sensational year, securing three podiums and becoming the first British rider to claim a pole position in over a decade."
Another Englishman, Bradley Smith (Crutchlow's Tech 3 team mate) has also had a great season as a MotoGP rookie, while the next class Moto2 is currently led by yet another British rider, Scott Redding.
It looks like it's a good year for British motorcycle racing, with Crutchlow being the first Brit to claim a pole position in more than 10 years. Until the Silverstone round, we're all eyes on the next MotoGP race this weekend in Germany, at Sachsenring.
