Can you imagine a bike built by Roland Sands and powered by a Lotus engine? For some it may seem a bit wacky to say the least, but it appears like RSD is really contemplating the idea.
The engine is the Omnivore, a special HCCI (Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition) concept, a 2-stroke architecture with Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) and fuel injection.
What's even cooler is that this single-cylinder mill can run on pretty much any mix of alcohols or gasoline, making it extremely convenient in a lot of situations.
The engine also allows a degree of optimization which is extremely hard to get with traditional 4-stroke power units. For more info check the video below and the Lotus Omnivore animation and explanations.
And yes, we'd be thrilled to see Roland Sands build such a beast!
