Earlier this year, Steve Saleen confirmed that his company is working on a new supercar that will take over where the S7 left off, but declined to reveal any actual details.
Recently, Saleen got back on the subject and announced that the upcoming V8-powered supercar will be launched under the S8 name. “We are working on what we’ll call the S8 and the continuation of the American supercar,” he said at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The S8 is expected to be unveiled within the next two years and pack at least the same amount of horsepower as the S5S Raptor, which squeezed 650 HP and 630 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 5.0-liter V8 mill.
Saleen is also working on a high-performance electric vehicle, as the automaker said back in June, but we have no idea what’s it all about as the California-based manufacturer has yet to spill the beans.
