We’ve been looking at this heavily camouflaged car for months now, and though we knew what it was in theory, Mercedes never officially went public with the information that they were building it. However, we new the baby CLS was coming, and the industry was buzzing with news that it would be based on the same modular platform as the A- and B-Class.
Today, Mercedes opened a brand new factory in Kecskemet (no, we can’t spell it out for you), Hungary. There, the B-Class compact MPV has rolled off the line. Mercedes’ top man Dr. Dieter Zetsche was there to open the new plant, and he mad an announcement saying that a new four-door coupe model will be the second car to be made there. What’s more, it has been made official that the new car is based on the same platform.

Mercedes has not yet come out in the open with a name for this model, and it’s been called the CLC, CLA and the BLS. However, numerous sources and the fact that it’s going to be a front-wheel drive car point towards the fact that this is the BLS we’re dealing with.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
