Man United Star Anderson, Fiery Crash in Portugal
Witnesses say the footballer was pulled unconscious out of the car just moments before it went up in flames. thefirstpost.co.uk reports that Anderson was coming back from the Sardinha Biba nightclub, where he had spent the night. The two seater R8 apparently had three people on board, Anderson, another man and a woman.
"I saw a cloud of smoke ahead of me. The car was unable to straighten up after a slight bend and went into the field and caught fire. I thought he was dead. My brother dragged him out," Almeno Antunes, one of the witnesses of the crash told Jornal de Noticias.
All three people in car were taken to hospital, where they spent several hours. Amazingly, they all suffered only minor injuries and were discharged from St Mark's hospital.
"They had only minor injuries," Roman Fresco, hospital spokesman, was quoted as saying by the source. "The girl needed more care, but for little things."
It is unclear at this point what is the cause of the crash.

Anderson hasn't played for Man U since February, when he ruptured his cruciate ligament. Following this week's crash, he is expected to return and restart recovery. Everybody expects the recovery to be difficult, but no so hard as the moment when Anderson will come face to face with Sir Alex Ferguson.
