A pristine 1954 Chevrolet Corvette with just 1,370 miles on its odometer is about to get hammered at Auctions America’s sale event in Fort Lauderdale, which is scheduled to take place from March 14 through 16.
Finished in the classic first-generation Corvette combo - Polo White exterior with Sportsman Red interior - this stunning roadster comes with a documented history from new and it’s been maintained like new by its long term, collector owner.
Only 3,640 units of the Corvette C1 were built in 1954 and all of them were powered by a Blue Flame 235 cubic inch inline six engine that delivered 150 horsepower via a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. No V8s were offered that year, and although sportscar enthusiasts weren’t that thrilled with its performance that year, it sure makes a great collector’s item 60 years later.
The vehicle is expected to fetch between $100,000 and $125,000 and we’ll be back to report the final sum as soon as the white roadster crosses the block.
