There are some birthdays that come with key milestones. At 16 you can legally drive, at 18 you can vote, at 21 you can drink, at 25 you can rent a car and at 50, well, you just get made fun of. In fact, perusing a Hallmark store would probably find that there are as many “Over the Hill” cards as there are for any other birthday.
One police officer in Kansas City, KS found out that his colleagues were far too creative to (and had way too much free time) to bother with a cheesy “Over the Hill” card. Instead, Detective Stuart Littlefield showed up to work on his 50th birthday last week only to find that his Ford Taurus police car had been covered in Post-It notes. About 4,000 of the sticky squares were used in total with a creative mix of colors covering everything from the wheels and tires to roof.

The smiley face and balloons finish off the pranksters’ handy work on the outside, but there was even more of a surprise on the inside. Upon opening the door, he found that the interior was also full of balloons, and in the news report, he promptly starts popping them with his knife. Littlefield says that normally he is the prankster of the department, but when he finds out who did this – and we hope that would be soon since he’s a detective – “payback is coming.”

More importantly, the video points out that the Post-It notes were purchased by the employees, and that the car was “wrapped” off the clock. Check out the news report here.
