It’s one of the most expensive street-legal cars and its various models pack the least 1,000 horsepower engines, but this Indonesian custom shop is not about powerfull motors, but about art. The talented handcraft artists from Boyolali, Central Java, Indonesia thought a Veyron replica made out of teak wooden scraps could make for a proper tribute. It's not only beautiful, but it also costs pocket change, in comparison.
No, it’s not the Bugatti Veyron replica built out of a 2004 Pontiac GTO. This one we wrote about in June. You know, the automatic Pontiac with 85,000 miles on its odometer that was priced at $125,000. The project was handled by a company called Santana Innovative Design, who literally cut off parts of the GTO to make ends meet.

Nor is it the Bugatti Veyron based on a 1992-1995 Honda Civic couple. The silly replica sold for $7,600 on eBay Motors two years ago. That one even had the face of Optimus Prime as a rear logo and a set of a scissor-door, but it was rather about cheap taste than actually any art involved in the making of it.

Fully made out of wood

In our particular case, we’re looking at a wooden Bugatti Veyron specially designed for a customer in Germany. It was built by the skillful hands from Kemiri, Mojosongo Village, Boyolali Recency, Central Java Indonesia (yep, that is a long name) and is a fully 1:1 scale model of the millionaire’s hypercar.

According to owner of the workshop Eko Lukistyanto, they made the replica from eak wooden scraps and sculpted it with their own hands. It comes with a fully detailed interior and exterior, with features such as a similar multi-spoke design for the alloy wheels that replicate the look of the ones used on the actual car. The shop is sort of specialized in making wooden car replicas, which you can tell by looking at their work.

Like it or not, but this baby is priced around $3,333 which is what you’d probably spend only on fuel for a road trip with an actual Bugatti, say you’d own one...
