Fiat 500L Fully Revealed ahead of LA Debut [Photo Gallery]
The Italian carmaker has decided to reveal the 500L ahead of the auto show, so let’s get this five-door party started. Compared to the standard 500, the L version is 26 inches (cm) longer, as well as six inches (cm) wider and taller, which boosts interior space by 42 percent.
The vehicle is being launched with the most powerful engine in the 500 range, the 160 hp & 184 lb-ft (Nm) turbocharged four-cylinder MultiAir from the 500 Abarth. This can work with either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission.
You’ll be able to choose between the standard and the Trekking model, but don’t let the latter’s front and rear fascia visual elements, or the beefier wheel arches that hide 17-inch rims fool you, the Trekking doesn’t offer four-wheel drive. However, this in carnation of the car also receives a two-tone interior, so it’s actually the one you’ll want.
You can check out the press release below (PDF file) for the full details of the 500L.
