The 2016 Triumph Bonneville T120 and T120 Black have all the chances to become strong sellers for the British maker. They are thoroughly revised and updated and promise a whole new experience.
We knew that Triumph was working on an entirely new generation of Modern Classic machines, but to what extent they would change remained a secret until weeks ago. Several teasers and fugitive appearances of the bikes were little compensation for the secrecy, but now it's time to introduce them to you in all their splendor.

The photos may be a bit deceiving at the first glance, as from afar, the only thing that captures one's attention is the radiator that indicates that Triumph is now using liquid-cooled engines. Still, underneath the retro looks, these two bikes are changed entirely.

Their engine displacement grew to 1200cc, and the parallel twin can deliver as much as 77 lb-ft or 104.5 Nm of torque, and do so with improved fuel economy.

Electronics lead the way even for the retro-styled machines

With the addition of the ride-by-wire throttle system, Triumph was also able to introduce riding modes for the first time. These bikes come with Road and Rain mappings, offering enhanced safety in the wet.

Traction control is also on the standard features list, as well as ABS, daytime riding lights, the LED tail light and the USB charging port for handheld devices.

It remains to be seen whether the new front suspension, known to have been an issue with older versions, is capable to match the rest of the upgrades.

The Bonnies' dual gauges are also new, and they incorporate LCD panels that convey riding details and info on the electronic systems status, taking Triumph machines to the next level.

With classic color schemes and matte black accents for the Black version, these new Bonneville bikes retain much of the old-school vibe. Some might say that Hinckley went a bit too far with the upgrades, but we certainly love these new classics.
