Craftsman CTX Tractor to Debut at Detroit Auto Show

This year’s edition of the Detroit Auto Show will include one of the most controversial releases in the history of the event: the Craftsman CTX (yes, as in “Cadillac CTX”) tractor, which will be offered in a yard and a garden model.
The machine is powered by a 30 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, which sits on a A heavy-duty welded frame and uses a cast iron axle. This offers it an 8 mph (13 km/h) top speed, as well as an 3 mph (5 km/h) reverse top speed.

You can rely a 54-inch (137 cm) deck to handle the grass, while the turning circle of 18 inches (46 cm), should give you the maneuverability you need. The tractor can also become a hauler, aerator, dethatcher, cultivator, sweeper or snow plow.

The list of features includes cruise control, full digital instrumentation with color-coded controls, power steering, soft-grip tilt steering wheel, console with a cup holder and a 12-volt adapter. The Craftsman CTX tractor is coming to all Sears locations, with prices ranging between $3,000 and$6,500. Before we go, we have to tell you that the vehicle’s designation actually stands for “Craftsman Tractor Experience".

"We are launching this new line of Craftsman tractors because homeowners with larger lawns and more rugged terrains want a durable, high-performance tractor mower to help them maintain a beautiful lawn," said Kris Malkoski, vice president and general manager of the Craftsman brand. "Because Detroit has given us great performing cars with best-in-class features, we think it is logical to bring a tractor to the Auto Show that does the same."
