Go chrome or go home, that's what we always say. It seems to be true in Miami, where folks like to attract attention and turn their cars into giant mirrors.
We've been following the guys at Metro Wrapz for some years, and we can honestly say we've never seen them do cars with matching caskets. Sure, it's a bit morbid, but you have to give the client what he wants.
For quite some time, we've been getting the feeling that the chrome wrapping business isn't going that well. Maybe people have gotten bored with the idea, or the material is not durable enough to justify applying on a high-speed bullet like this SLS AMG.
Mind you, Metro Wrapz are the kings of the Miami wrapping scene. They were the ones to cover Flo Rida's Bugatti Veyron in chrome, gold chrome and then pink for a charity event. They also do SUVs, boats, motorcycles, scooters, Segways and pretty much anything that costs big bucks.
At first glance, cars have absolutely no connection to burial rituals. But we've seen quite a few Russians asking to be buried with their beloved S-Class or Maybach luxobarges. Some asked for custom headstones with statues of their cars and others had car-shaped caskets. Must be something about these sexy Mercs that makes people want to be with them forever!
But the big question here is: why are there two of these gruesome chrome things? Is this a case of his & hers, like towels and toothbrushes? But this isn't ancient Egypt, where the Pharaoh was put inside the pyramid together with his beloved, even if she had a few more years on the clock.
Let's just hope this is part of a weird publicity stunt and the SLS can enjoy many more years of love from its owner.
