CGI: 2012 Volkswagen Golf VII
So is the case with the CGI's we present here. The Golf VII, not scheduled for release for at least another three years or so, has been rendered here based on what appeared to be a slip in Volkswagen's advertising strategy.
Sometimes last week, the German carmaker released a video showcasing the creation steps for the L1 Concept. Somewhere in the background,
As you can see, the future Golf will get some of the designs implemented in the current generation. The front grille will be drawn based on the recently re-introduced one, but smaller in size. For some reason, the tough looking hood of the Golf has taken here a more Renault Clio inspired design; a feature which does not really add up with the Golf trade-mark rear end.
The head lights will also loose some of their bulky appearance in favor of more elongated ones, again dropping one of Golf's trade lines.
Of course, it is way to soon to begin speculation about the possible engine line-up for the VII but, as with the current generation, a GTI and maybe GTD versions will be created. Hybrid is not all that far-fetched either...
