The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 which debuted at the Los Angeles International Auto Show is a very important car for both the German manufacturer and the US market. At the launch, BMW announced that its first hybrid performance and luxury sedan will arrive in showrooms in spring 2011 with a base MSRP of $103,125 including destination and handling for the ActiveHybrid 7 and $107,025 for the long wheelbase ActiveHybrid 7L.
The ActiveHybrid 7 Sedan will feature a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and hybrid electric motor.
The efficiency is improved by the Start-and-Stop feature which will not interrupt the car’s climate control or other features. As standard, the ActiveHybrid 7 has 19-inch wheels and tires, Alcantara headliner, leather dashboard, ventilated active front seats, the premium sound system, Head-up Display and Rear View Camera, Comfort Access, soft-close doors and automatic trunkgate closing.
