2014 Chevrolet Silverado to Gain More Special Models
According to Edmunds, GM is eyeing Ford’s co-branding and high-performance models strategy, which includes vehicles such as the F-150 Harley-Davidson edition and the F-150 SVT Raptor.
"Ford does a lot with co-branding," said Chris Hilts, manager of creative design for GM's full-size pickup truck interiors. "I can't comment on anything going forward, but I will say our leadership is very aware of not only the Harley-Davidson pickup, but also the Raptor. There are a lot of halo vehicles at Ford. They do sell well and they do set a tone for the vehicle. We definitely are looking into that."
Currently, Chevrolet offers a rival vehicle only to Ford’s range-topping F-150 King Ranch. Dubbed Silverado High Country, the new special model, which is placed above the LTZ trim, will go on sale this summer.
