2010 Toyota Mark X Released

Japanese carmaker Toyota has just revealed details on the redesiged Mark X model, which comes in two versions, Sports and Premium. The first comes in three trim levels available, namely 250G S, 250G S Relax Selection and 350S, while the Premium offers the standard and L package trim levels.

There are six refined body colors are available, including the new Ice Titanium Mica Metallic. According to Toyota, pricing for the new Mark X starts at 2.38 million yen (approx. $26,200), and goes up to 3.8 million yen (approx. $41,800) for the top of the range model.

The models come equipped with a choice of two engine configurations, namely a 3.5-liter V6 mated to a 6 Super ECT, and a 2.5-liter V6 engine (two-wheel drive).

Addition safety features for 2010 include seven airbags, with SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) side airbags, SRS curtain shield airbags, and a driver's seat knee airbag), VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), TRC (Traction Control) and Active Headrests.

The vehicle's Pre-Crash Safety System uses millimeter-wave radar to detect potential collisions and alerts the driver through a warning buzzer and display. In addition, the car has been fitted with a Pre-Crash Brake Assist system, a Pre-Crash Brake system and Pre-Crash Seatbelts.

Toyota also worked on improving fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. Therefore, the 2.5-liter two-wheel-drive models have a fuel consumption of 7.7 l/100km (49.2 mpg), while the 3.5-liter two-wheel-drive models have one of 9.8 l/100km (24 mpg). All vehicles in the series achieve emission levels 75% lower than the 2005 level required under the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Approval System for Low-emission Vehicles.
