Glamor from Poland? Yes, that can happen, but only if you're talking about the Opel Cascada, which has entered production there yesterday.
Taking advantage of Opel's long tradition with mid-sized convertible models, the Cascada is a whole new brand of car that still evokes imagery of the old Bertone.

The first model to roll off the line at the Opel plant in Gliwice, Poland, was equipped with a new 1.6 turbo gasoline engine and will be on show in Geneva next month.

“Today is a really special day, not only for the Gliwice plant, but also for Opel. The Cascada is the next building block in our product offensive. Following the ADAM and the Mokka, with the Cascada we are now also reaching customers in segments where we have not yet been present,” says Steve Girsky, Opel Supervisory Board Chairman, GM Vice Chairman and President GM Europe.

“Gliwice is city rich in tradition in the Upper Silesia industrial area. Its importance for the Polish economy is immense. The fact that another Opel model will be produced here once again spotlights the good work the region and the plant itself deliver,” said Polish Deputy Prime Minister and guest of honor, Janusz Piechocinski.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
