Initially unveiled in 2005 and kept in production till nowadays, the latest Passat was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2005. During the same year, it was officially launched in Europe, facing tough competition from Honda Accord, Mazda 6, Nissan Altima and Hyundai Sonata. The German car manufacturer Volkswagen implemented a series of new features which were never seen on a Passat, including the DVD navigation system, the advanced cruise control and the keyless engine start system.
