The facelift for the first generation of the Panamera was unveiled in 2013 at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. The Hybrid version was more powerful and more fuel-efficient than before.

With the introduction of the plug-in version for the Panamera Hybrid in 2013, the German four-door sports-sedan achieved a better range. It received a 9.4 kWh li-ion battery and a more powerful motor. It was more than just another hybrid, it was a sports-plug-in-hybrid GT.

With the option for LED headlights, Porsche Panamera Hybrid stepped into a new era. Its intelligent lighting system allowed a better view of the road. The standard version was fitted with bi-xenon headlamps. The revised front and rear bumpers brought a more aggressive look for the car. The bigger side-scoops in the apron were inspired by those installed on the 911 range. A wider rear windscreen was installed on the new tailgate. The electric-green brake calipers were specific for the Hybrid version.

Inside, the manufacturer installed the PCM (Porsche Communication Management) for the infotainment system. It supported Apple CarPlay connectivity, but its compatibility with Android phones was limited. The tachometer was mounted in the middle of the instrument cluster, with a round TFT display on its right side, where the navigation system could have been shown, as well as other on-board computer information. The Porsche Car Connect app was fitted as standard.

The gasoline V6 engine was carried over from the non-facelifted version, but the electrical system was completely new. While keeping the same dimensions as before, the new electric motor offered 95 hp, almost double than for its predecessor. The new battery allowed an electric range of up to 36 km (22.3 miles). With a total output power of 416 hp, it offered the same performance as a V8 engine, but with the way better fuel-efficiency.
