Webber Doesn't Regret No 2 Status Comments

A few days ago, Red Bull's team boss Christian Horner told the media that his race driver Mark Webber regrets some of the things he said in the heat of the moment, following the eventful British Grand Prix two weekends ago. However, the Australian driver was uncomfortable with two things at Silverstone: his alleged No 2 status within the team and the fact that he signed a one-year extension with Red Bull.

Apparently, we now know what comments he's sorry for, as the 33-year old told the journalists in Germany that he doesn't regret his radio conversation with his race engineer at the end of the British GP. Back then, after crossing the finish line victorious, Webber told his engineer “Not bad for a No 2 driver!”

I don't have any regrets, no. I don't have any regrets. As a sportsman, and that is why we are all here - it's a sport – and things happen in the heat of the moment that just happen,” said Webber prior to this weekend's German Grand Prix, at the Hockenheim Ring, according to Autosport.

I should have put some colourful language either side of my radio transmission, because maybe it would never have got run. But I was polite and it did get run, and then a few extra people heard what I had to say.”

But in the end, we are a very, very strong team – the mechanics, everyone together on the floor, all the guys, we are very strong. It was a very unique situation and of course one we have learned from, and we will be going forward very aggressively from here on,” added the Australian, who also insisted that everything is back to normal within the Red Bull garage.

A funny situation occurred during the media conference in Germany today, when both Webber and his teammate Sebastian Vettel here handed a watch apiece by Japanese watchmaker Casio.

They were both given the watches at the same time. We also have plenty of spares and they are all in the same specification so I can't see there being any issues with watches this weekend,” joked Horner.
