Watch and Learn: Brake on Gravel Causes Lowside Crash

Here's another educational video which shows just how easy it is to come off the bike when encountering a patch of gravel and sand on the road... and the rider is aboard a sport bike.
While loose gravel and sand are a menace for pretty much any rider, riding a bike with a wide rear tire and asphalt-focused trad pattern is one of the machines which are most likely to be in trouble when running into such a predicament. And braking in mid-turn in less-than-ideal road conditions is a sure way to spill.

Scouting a head is the best way to avoid such situation, and having good skills when it comes to picking up the bike are also a valuable asset. This lowside could have been easily avoided, as we see the riders ahead riding across the same segment of the road, but without leaning too much, and without braking.

This guy could revise his riding manner in turns and learn how to keep speed int he safe zone, so no braking is needed. Good to hear he's ok; as for the incoming GSX, luckily he made it, inches away from being crashed hard into as he was.
