Vettel Purchases $4000 Beatles Album

In case he doesn't win the 2009 drivers title in Formula One, German driver Sebastian Vettel can proudly say he did at least one thing right this year. Apart from becoming multiple grand prix winner in Formula One, the Red Bull racer recently acquired a brand new Beatles album to add to his existing collection.

Known to be an enthusiast of the Liverpool based band, Vettel purchased an original and signed vinyl copy of the 1963 LP 'With The Beatles' prior to the Brazilian Grand Pris this weekend. The aforementioned album belonged to former Williams F1 team press officer Ann Bradshaw.

Although Vettel was never in contact with the Grove based team in the past, he got to know Bradshaw from the times he was driving for BMW Sauber team, back in 2006. Recently, when finding out that the 60-year old woman was selling the well-known album, he asked her to bid on his behalf.

I got a text and email from him telling me to 'please buy the album'. I will give it to him at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi,” Bradshaw revealed for the Peterborough Evening telegraph.

If one is curious to find out just how much Vettel got out of his pocket to purchase this rare piece of the Beatles collection, know that the bidding process ended at more than $4000 (USD).

Until getting his hands on the album, Vettel is currently preparing for one of the most important races in his career, the Brazilian Grand Prix. The German is trailing championship leader Jenson Button by 16 points with 2 races to go and needs to win at Interlagos in order to keep the title fight aline until the season finale.
