Venturi Automobiles has unveiled their VBB-3, a 3000+ horsepower electric car that will attempt to break the FIA world land speed record for EVs.
Introduced in the presence of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco, the VBB-3 was developed in collaboration with the Ohio State University over the last couple of years and is powered by two electric motors, backed up by a that deliver “more than 3,000 HP”.
"I am proud of sharing with the Prince Sovereign and the Princess the launch of this new sportive, technological and environmental challenge. It is truly thrilling to work on such a project to help tomorrow's mobility to progress,” said Monaco-born Venturi owner Gildo Pallanca Pastor.
Venturi aims to set a new electric vehicle world speed record of 600 km/h (373 mph) later this year, after initial high-speed tests at the famed Bonneville Salt Flats have been canceled due to poor weather conditions.
