UD Replicas Debuts Tron Legacy Motorcycle Suits

Though it is scheduled to be released this December, the new adventure sci-fi movie from Disney is already causing a stir among genre enthusiasts. Tron Legacy has also inspired UD Replicas in making movie-inspired motorcycle riding gear, similar to the company's existing Batman, X-Men and Iron Man 2 equipment.

The new Tron riding gear debuted at the recent Comic-Con event in San Diego at UD Replicas’ Disney booth, clutchandchrome.com reports. The suits on show here reportedly featured different technologies to achieve the glowing lit look seen in the upcoming remake of the 80’s classic.

The suits themselves do not contain any light-up elements, but feature reflective tape. A Tron jacket includes 100 square inches of EL wire make up the glowing accents which will last up to five hours on a full charge. The materials used in the Tron riding apparel is the same material used by the costume designers for TRON: Legacy.

There is also a controller on the battery pack will allow the riders to select from several different patterns and lighting effects. As there will be a limited edition production, TRON: Legacy suits are expected to range from $800-$1200 when they become available later this year.

Those who attended the Comic Con also had the opportunity to see the studio’s very own life-size version of the fastest computerized motorcycle ride coming to the big screen this summer, the Tron Lightcycle. Recently, the team at Parker Brothers also gave fans the chance to actually own one of only five replicas of the bike ever produced at a recent online auction held on eBay.
