The Triumph Spirit interactive digital magazine issue 11 is not available and it brings a ton of interesting stories. For many like me, speaking about how life was 2 decades ago brings back really sweet memories, and even though I wasn’t riding yet in the early 90’s the Speed Triple was already one of beasts which made my heart beat faster.
The Speed Triple celebrates its 20th anniversary and Triumph has even put up a rather nice video for the occasion. I am not sure whether the Speed Triple rider is really named Joe or Triumph has decided to go for a generic one. Either way, Joe and his Speed Triple are at the track, and he puts in 3 warm-up laps, followed by 20 timed ones.
This video has a subtle, symbolic meaning to it, a nuance some buddies of mine haven’t gotten right from the start. While they expected to see a flamboyant commercial, they were a bit disappointed, but the video is as true as it gets: it shows a guy riding hard in the rainy English weather, putting in 20 laps (20 years) and becoming faster and faster. Need I say more?
As for the rest, The Spirit magazine issue 11 also has Hollywood heart throb Ryan Reynolds telling his story and sharing his passion for Triumph bikes. Readers can also find important info on the 2014 Tridays event. This year’s Triumph rally will take place June 19-22 in the German village of Neukirchen am Großvenediger, with Castrol and Öhlins as the first industry names confirmed.
