Triumph for Avirex Honors Steve McQueen

Legendary motorcycle manufacturer Triumph and clothing manufacturer Avirex shake hands one more time, half a century after Steve McQueen helped both earn more fame by riding a TR6 Trophy while wearing an A2 Avirex jacket in The Great Escape movie. Triumph announces a limited-edition run of 10 bikes which will be sold alongside 10 matching Avirex G1 leather jackets.

Now, what makes these bikes and jackets so special, you might ask. For starters, both bikes and jackets have received hand-painted individual accents, with the badges of WWII airplane fighters painted on the left side of the tanks, opposing the “Triumph for Avirex” right-hand logo. Each of these bikes will be sold with the corresponding Avirex G1 leather jacket, adorned with a matching patch.

This time Triumph opted for a customized version of the T100 Bonneville, with Speedmaster handlebars and Baloon grips, a custom seat covered the very same Avirex premium-quality leathers. Add in the military colors used for the bikes’ livery, Metzeler Tourance dual-sport tires, black wheels, Oval Black turn signals and Enduro tail light for an even stronger retro attire fir this exceptional machines.

Now, such exclusive bikes could not come with the same price other off-the-mill machines are selling for. Each of these unique 10 machines (with matching jacket) can be yours for €11,900 ($16,380) and will be available for preorder through your local Triumph Dealers. If you’re in Italy next week you can maybe see these beauties in Avirex showrooms in Milan, Rome, Turin, Florence, Verona and Bologna.
