As it was expected, Toyota has announced the celebration for bringing the two millionth Yaris to the world via its Valenciennes maternity in Northern France on October 28. Toyota sees this as being a birthday present for its 10th anniversary, with the number 2 million model 1.4-litre D-4D five-door in Burning Red, destined for a customer in France.
The Yaris, which is Toyota’s best-seller in Europe, entered production at Valenciennes in January 2001, with an annual volume of 150,000 units, with the number climbing to 262,000 vehicles per year in 2007.

This important milestone was achieved thanks to the hard work and dedication of all our members in TMMF. With the arrival of the new Yaris, TMMF is entering a dynamic new era. The latest model offers a promising prospect for our plant in Valenciennes,” said Makoto Sano, Toyota Motor Manufacturing France.
