It looks like Toyota can make more than reliable and economical family cars. They know a thing or two about top fuel dragsters as well, a thing or two that won them the Mello Yello Series for the seventh time.
Last Sunday, Shawn Langdon won the Kansas Nationals after he managed to outrun the seven-time Mello Yello Series champion Tony Schumacher, posting a time of 3.750 seconds at 324.20 mph (521.7 km/h), while his opponent did a 3.781 seconds pass at 327.27 mph (526.6 km/h).
“The guys (his team) did a phenomenal job this weekend,” Langdon said. “They really made my job easy. I was just basically hanging on and trying to cut the best (starting) light I could.”
Sunday’s win represented the third one in Landon’s career, with all of them coming against Schumacher, who has most Top Fuel winnings attached to his name.
