The Endeavor has been officially put out of use. However, instead of abandoning it in the desert, NASA have decided to take it to the California Science Center, where it will stay on display as its very own exhibit. The move will take place on October 13, and the hard part of actually towing the craft will be left to a Toyota Tundra pick-up.
The distance between the current place where the Endeavor Space Shuttle is located, at the Los Angeles International Airport, and its final resting place, at the California Science Center, is about 12 miles (19 km). Official information suggests that extensive testing has been carried out to make sure the 5.7-liter V8-powered pick-up is up to the job, and apparently it has no problem whatsoever.

We hope to have video footage of the move, because it will undoubtedly be a very impressive sight!
