Ever wondered which industry is the fastest in the race to bring more and more technology to our lives? Well, it seems that the smart phones and tablets are on top, but the automotive industry comes third, with its connected car.
Toyota is looking to push the tech development pedal (no pun intended) even further, with the company announcing it is joining forces with Intel to give the world a new generation of infotainment systems.
The company promises to be ready to correct every fault the infotainment systems ever had and wants to offer assets such as seamless smart phone integration. The carmaker also wants to bring home and in-car electronics together, in order to "provide a seamless connection across all areas of people's lives".
"Toyota aims to lead the future mobile world through integration of vehicle, home and information communication technologies as announced in the 'Toyota Global Vision' earlier this year," said Kenichi Murata, project general manager, Electronics Development Div. 1, Toyota Motor Corporation. "Toyota, along with Intel, will use information technologies to drive innovations into the vehicle to make the vision a reality."
However, we are still one or two years away from being able to enjoy the first fruits of this tie-up.
