Toyota today announced its roster of cars for the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and the only global debut in the cards is the FT-Bh Concept, which is previews a future city car. This is going to be more of a design study showing what the Japanese can dream up in terms of proportions, but as we’ve come to expect from the Big T, emissions will also be targeted.
As the Future Toyota’s name suggests, it’s going to have a full hybrid powertrain. “The FT-Bh concept is an ultra-lightweight, full hybrid vehicle study, designed to achieve low emissions within an economically viable production framework. The techniques and thought processes demonstrated in the concept avoid the use of exotic and expensive materials or complex procedures, using only those already commonplace in the automotive industry,” Toyota says.
However, from the look of the design sketch, the FT-Bh looks anything but ordinary. We wouldn’t be surprised to see gulling doors or full LED lights in complex shapes.
