Toyota Shows Off RAV4 EV with New Promo

Toyota’s proposal for an all-electric SUV is a unique one, and currently unmatched by any other manufacturer. The fact that it’s a Toyota, a brand which projects an image of ultimate reliability, all-wheel driven and with a maximum range of 103 miles (165 km), as well as a combined EPA rating of 76 MPGe, it is currently without rival.
On sale since September 24th, and available at selected dealers from California, the RAV4 EV will set you back $49,800, or $599 per month, for a 36-month lease program, with $3,499 drive off. The Japanese manufacturer is aiming to sell aproximately 2,600 units through 2014, so it is not really a volume (or profit) builder for them, at all - they sold 61 in September.

Its unique blend of talents will undoubtedly appeal to many, some of which will definitely be former owners of the late 1990s RAV4 EV, when the program was forcefully stopped by Toyota, despite having ample waiting lists for prospective customers, similarly to what happened to the EV1.
