The fact that the Toyota Prius is popular in California is no secret, but it seems that the ever-increasing gas prices are really beginning to affect the way in which the American car buyer thinks. However, Californians like the Prius a lot more than the rest of America, as the sunny state accounts for 25% of all sales.
With a total of 1.25-million cars sold through September of this year, car sales in the state have grown by 11%, when compared to last year’s numbers. Of that total number, 46,380 were Prius models. These excellent figures make the Prius the 12th best-selling car in the US, beating so many other cars that it’s not worth mentioning.

Now, with the ‘Prius family’ offering different variations of the same very popular formula, coupled with the ever-increasing gas prices, the Prius, along with other similar hybrids will only grow in popularity, until the widespread shift towards full EVs finally begins.
