Toyota Presents RAV4 Facelift

As Toyota is trying to get through the rough patch, the Japanese manufacturer decided to release its first photo of the re-designed 2011 RAV4. The facelifted car will be shown at the Geneva Auto Show in March. Looking at the picture, we can see that the Japanese SUV has a completely revised front end, with new headlights, front grille, a new hood and a new front bumper with integrated fog lights. Despite the new design, the RAV4 seems to have maintained the same proportions. Though the engines still remain a mystery, it’s safe to assume that we won’t see any radical changes there. The new RAV4 is very important for the automaker, as Toyota suffered severely lately due to the numerous recalls. At first, the Japanese car manufacturer was forced to announced an 8-million cars recall due to a faulty accelerator pedal. After that, another worldwide recall hit the Prius model, this time due to some problems with breaking. People are losing faith in Toyota, as another recall of Tacoma trucks was announced in the United States. The manufacturer said that “the front shaft in approximately 8,000 vehicles may include a component that contains cracks that developed during the manufacturing process.  As those vehicles are used, the cracks may eventually lead to the separation of the drive shaft at the joint portion.” autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
